2016 Fall Programs

We're excited to offer the Fall lineup of The First Tee of Greater Austin After-School Programming. The First Tee's curriculum combines golf instruction with life skills and healthy habits, providing a unique opportunity for kids ages 5-17 of all skill levels to learn the game of golf, while integrating important life skills such as sportsmanship, respect and integrity, as well as lifetime healthy habits. 

Seven Convenient Locations

Fall Classes will be offered weekly for 12-week sessions at seven convenient locations:

  • Harvey Penick Golf Campus in East Austin

  • Balcones Country Club in Northwest Austin 

  • Falconhead Golf Club in West Austin 

  • Onion Creek Golf Club in South Austin 

  • Golfsmith Practice Facility & Learning Center in North Austin

  • TopGolf Austin by the Domain

  • Pine Forest Golf Club in Bastrop

Classes Offered at Harvey Penick Golf Campus - home of TFTGA

*Classes at HPGC are grouped by First Tee level. Beginners start at the PLAYer level and progress based on golf skills and knowledge and life skills awareness. *At Harvey Penick GC based classes, parents are asked to attend a brief orientation during the First Class Session with TFTGA Executive Director, Jennifer MacCurrach, and/or TFTGA Manager of Programs & Outreach, Derrick Elstob.

Young Guns Class: For ages 5 - 6

Saturdays (9:00-10:30am):  September 10th - December 3rd

Mondays (4:30-5:30pm):  September 12th - December 5th

PLAYer Class: For ages 7 - 17 that are new to The First Tee Program

Wednesdays (4:30-5:30pm): September 14th - December 7th (Player and Par students)

Saturdays (8:30-10:00am):  September 10th - December 3rd

PLAYer Advance ClassFor students that need to bridge the gap between PLAYer and Par

Saturdays (8:30-10:00am)  September 10th - December 3rd

Par ClassFor students ages 7 - 17, pre-requisite is PLAYer certification

Saturdays (10:30am-12:00pm): September 10th - December 3rd

Birdie ClassFor students ages 10 - 17, pre-requisite is PAR certification

Saturdays (8:30am-10:30am): September 10th - December 3rd

Eagle/ACE ClassFor students ages 12 - 17, per-requisite BIRDIE certification

Saturdays (10:45am-12:45pm): September 10th - December 3rd

Wednesdays (4:30-6:00pm): September 14th - December 7th

Onion Creek Club: Students ages 7 - 17, all skill levels

Thursdays (4:15-5:45pm): September 15th - December 8th

Golfsmith Practice Facility and Learning Center: Students ages 7 - 17, all skill levels

Saturdays (10:30-12:00pm): September 10th - December 3rd

TopGolf Austin: Students ages 7 - 17, all skill levels

Mondays (5:00-6:00pm):  September 12th - December 5th

Pine Forest Golf Club: Students ages 7 - 17, all skill levels

Wednesdays (4:30-6:00pm):  September 14th - December 7th

*Discounts are available for one or more registrants from the same family - please register each child separately for his or her specific class and choose the "Sibling" ticket price for the second, third or fourth child!

*If you are applying for a scholarship, you may register for the specific class and choose the "Scholarship" ticket option. Please note there is a $20 Scholarship Fee and a more information required. This information is only used for funding and grant purposes. 

*Weather: Please note that First Tee classes/camps will go on “as scheduled” despite rain. We will email you if there is a cancellation. 

Additional Program Opportunities This Fall

Fall Foundation Tour presented by Academy Sports & Outdoors: This multi-event series (hosted at Harvey Penick Golf Campus) is an opportunity to introduce First Tee players and young golfers (grades 1-8) to tournament golf. Elementary Division 1st-4th grade and Middle School Division 5th-8th grade. There are three competitions (1 per month) - during which students compete and are taught important elements of golf etiquette including rules, order of play, pace of play, and more. Register here!

Winter Break Golf Camps: There's no better way to spend spring break in Austin than to partake in TFTGA's Winter Break Camp 2016! (December 27th-29th 9:00am-3:00pm). Fun activities are in store for all students (ages 7-17) who will be exposed to our research based curriculum and age appropriate golf and Footgolf offerings! See full details and register here!
